Washington Slagbaai Park
Originally inhabited by native South Americans, and comprised of two of the largest plantations on the island during colonial period, the park is rich in historical and cultural heritage. The visitor center at the park entrance, with it’s museum (and recently opened Shark Room) and hiking trails offers visitors an enjoyable learning experience. There are 6 dive sites in the Park, mostly you will have these sites all by yourself! Climb the Brandaris, go mountainbiking, go snorkeling at Wayaka II, it is amazing! There is no shop or restaurant in the park, make sure you bring enough food and drinks!
The park is open every day from 8am – 5pm but no entry is allowed after 2.45pm.
Mangazina di Rei
Mangazina di Rei is the second oldest stone building on Bonaire. It was originally used to store provisions for the government slaves. Today our elders reveal the rich cultural heritage of Bonaire to the younger generations. Visit this special place and see, feel & taste the Bonairean way of life. Play on traditional music instruments, try to make a cactus fence like they used to in the past and still do! Taste traditional drinks, learn about the history of Bonaire at the museum. Diving on Bonaire is the ultimate experience for both experienced divers and beginners! Bonaire offers a total of 86 dive sites, it is home to over 57 species of soft and stony coral and more than 350 recorded fish species. Bonaire is famous for it’s shore diving but by boat you can even explore more sites. From the shore, to make it easy, dive sites are marked with yellow stones and have the name of the site on it. Please note that all users of the Bonaire National Marine Park must pay the Nature fee of Usd 25.- per person. Located at Sorobon next to each other are the two TOP places for windsurfing Jibe City and Bonaire Windsurf Place. Windsurfing on Bonaire is considered the best in the world because of its ideal windsurfing conditions. At Sorobon, the water is shallow and warm, with steady tradewinds, and a beautiful white sandy beach.
A very unique and scenic experience! Explore the mangroves and learn about this unique area of Bonaire. You can take the two-hour kayak tours, which also includes snorkeling through a mangrove channel or take the 1-hour guided mangrove tour by solar boat. Klein Bonaire is a small uninhabited island located just off the coast of Bonaire. Klein Bonaire is included in the protection of the Bonaire National Marine Park and is home to turtle nesting grounds. Take a trip on the watertaxi’s available and spend some hours snorkeling and relaxing on this beautiful sandy beach!
The Cadushy Distillery makes the world’s only liqueur made from cactus and is created right on the premises at the distillery on Bonaire. This year for the first time Bonaire’s Cadushy Distillery entered the World Spirit Competition in San Francisco with some of their unique products. The Cadushy Distillery won two medals, a world-class achievement! Captain Don’s Whisky won a Silver Medal. Cadushy Vodka won a Gold Medal.
There’s also a small children’s playground to keep your young ones entertained while you relax and enjoy your Cactus Cocktail.

Terramar Museum is the newest museum on the Island taking you 7000 years back in time telling a fascinating story of Bonaire & the Caribbean’s history! You can find this beautifully restored museum in the middle of town at the Terramar shopping Mall. For more info please visit terramarmuseum.com

In 1993 Dutch Nationals, Marina Melis and her husband Ed Koopman, established a donkey sanctuary on Bonaire for sick, wounded and orphaned donkeys. Donkey Sanctuary Bonaire is open for visitors daily from 10am – 5 pm, latest entry is 4pm. You can tour the park by car, scooter or bike. The sanctuary welcomes you in their little shop and tell you about the work they do. Any donations or adoptions are more then Welcome ! Make this fun tour through the park with your car and meet the hundreds of donkeys wanting to meet you and will like you even more if you have some fresh carrots ! Snorkel Sailing Trips
