Bonaire goes Pink
When you visit Bonaire for the first time there will be one thing that really will stand out: it’s so pink! Upon arrival you are welcomed by a cute pink airport and that’s just the beginning.
The salt pans create a beautiful effect on the water as it’s color is not bright blue, but pink. The high level of sea salt causes it to be pink. Isn’t that just amazing? Mother nature really created something extraordinary here.
They are everywhere! If they’re not flying in the sky, they are painted on the streets or chilling in the lakes. Bonaire is one of the four places in the world where flamingo’s breed in the wild. The best place to admire these pink birds is the Pekelmeer, where they breed, and Gotomeer. Don’t forget your camera, for the perfect photo opportunity.
