50 Shades Of Blue at the First Heineken Kite Ride Bonaire
Driving south today it hit my eyes. Breathtaking colors in every shade of blue imaginable. Aqua, azure and teal to deep indigo and cobalt in the ocean. Intense turquoise water so clear you can see all the way to the bottom of the sea.
I was driving to Atlantis Beach to watch the kite surfers at the Heineken Kite Ride Bonaire event. If you are on Bonaire, please give yourself some time to go and see the kiters, they are fantastic!
Top 10 names
Bonaire is hosting this freestyle and wake style event for the first time. The top 10 international kite boarders will perform their tricks on features like rails and ramps in the flat, light blue waters of Bonaire.
One of the top names is Ruben Lenten. He is famous for his extreme jumps, topped with mega loops. Ruben is acknowledged as the master of free style kiting.
Ice cold Heineken
On top of all the action Atlantis Beach has been turned into a relaxing paradise with great food, ice cold beer and lounge music.
Thursday June 20 2013 and Friday June 21 2013 is your best change to see world champion Aaron Hadlow and Ruben Lenten showing off the best jumps and tricks.
As parking can get busy at Atlantis Beach you will be asked to park your car at the Salt pier where shuttles are available at no cost to the event area.
Saturday the event will close with a promising party from 11 AM to 11 PM at Spice Beach Club with Dj’s, Live band, Fashion show, Floating bar with Kip Tukkie chicken and a bouncer for the little one’s.
